SPRING CONCERT 2008

MOTHER'S DAY CONCERT/SINGALONG, Sunday May 11, 4PM

The Brattleboro Women's Chorus invites the community to come listen and sing along at  their annual Mother's Day concert on Sunday May 11. The concert will be held at 4:00 at the First Baptist Church on Main Street in Brattleboro. On Saturday they will entertain seniors at Brattleboro senior homes, and on Sunday they will present their  public concert.

Led by director Becky Graber, the chorus will sing songs about parents, children, mothers and grandmothers, including songs by Holly Near, Ysaye Barnwell, and Malvina Reynolds. Chorus members will also read the original Mother's Day Proclamation, a strong call to peace and activism written by Julia Ward Howe, the author of the Battle Hymn of the Republic.  

           

Admission to the concert is available only at the door.  Admission is $15 generous, $10 adults, $6 seniors and children. For more information, call 254-8994.

           

Strolling of the Heifers concert on Friday, June 6 at 7:30pm

           

The Brattleboro Women's Chorus will be performing as part of the Strolling of the Heifers concert on Friday, June 6 at 7:30 pm at the Latchis Theatre. The chorus will sing songs to honor Windham County Women in Agriculture. Their selections include "A Girl's Garden", by Randall Thompson, words by Robert Frost; "A Garden of My Own" by Patricia McKernon; "When Harvesting Arugula" by Diane Benjamin, words by Becky Karush.
