Fall 2008 Registration
We will start chorus this year on Wednesday, September 10 th , from 7 – 8:30 at All Soul's Church at the West Village Meeting House, and then we'll gather each Wednesday (with one exception) until our concerts the weekend before Thanksgiving, Saturday evening November 22 and Sunday afternoon, November 23. The one exception is the week of Rosh Hashanah: we will meet Monday, October 6 instead of Wednesday, October 8 .
I have in mind for this fall a focus even more than usual on “community singing” or “village singing”. As I look for songs, I am looking for songs that have as their theme or their strong intention the idea of a community of people singing together. I am gathering from many traditions, as usual, but I'm looking especially at African and Balkan material as I search. I am also working on some compositions of my own which may be ready for fall. If you have ideas, they are ALWAYS welcome, especially if you can give me something tangible to work with – a recording, or written music. Let me know if you have something in mind that you think is just right for us. Poems are welcome too!

Chorus will cost $95 this fall if you register by August 14, or $100 if you register after that ($7.50 per rehearsal comes out to $97.50!!) and $150 for mothers and daughters. (As I try to envision chorus and select songs it is ALWAYS easier for me if I know who's coming – thus the two tiered rates.) Please remember there is always financial aid available to make it possible for everyone who wants to sing with the chorus to do so, so if you are in need of help to sing with chorus, let me know, and I'll send you a financial aid form. Also remember, the Brattleboro Women's Chorus is a 501c3 nonprofit organization, and your contributions to the scholarship fund or chorus operations are welcome, and tax deductible.
To register please send a check for at least partial payment ($40 holds your place and gets you the cheaper rate!) to me along with the form below.
